Things to Do
West Virginia offers more beauty and excitement than any other state in the nation… they don’t call us ‘Wild and Wonderful’ and ‘Almost Heaven’ for nothing! Make the most of your cabin getaway by exploring the region, trying an exciting new activity or thrilling to an adventure.
Whitewater Rafting

Taking a professionally guided whitewater rafting trip is the most popular activity that visitors participate in when they visit the New River Gorge region. The rivers here are diverse, so you can choose what type of experience you would like: mild, intermediate or world-class. Families with children as young as six enjoy family-friendly trips on the Upper New River; adults and teens love braving the rapids of ‘the gorge’ on the Lower New; and the Gauley River provides world-class whitewater thrills for rafting enthusiasts!
